I got yum to upgrade.

I removed the following (e.g.: "yum remove ..."), in the order shown: 

kmod-nvidia-185.18.36-1.fc11.2.i586
kmod-nvidia-2.6.30.5-43.fc11.i586
kmod-nvidia-2.6.27.25-78.2.56.fc9.i686-173.14.15-1.fc9.16.i686
kmod-nvidia-2.6.27.21-78.2.41.fc9.i686-173.14.15-1.fc9.12.i686

Removal of the last two is probably what fixed it. I'm not entirely sure why the FC9 stuff was still there.
