Yum doesn't handle rpmlib deps.

Reported by: plouj Assigned to: skvidal
Priority: minor Milestone: Translation stuff and i18n
Component: yum Version: Stable: 3.2.x
Keywords: syslinux FileDigests rawhide depsolve rpm_check_debug Cc:

Description (Last modified by james)

You ignores all rpmlib deps. this is mostly fine except every now and again rpm adds a new feature (and a new rpmlib dep.) and we kind of fall over.

Most recent example is stuff hitting Fedora rawhide for F11 with:

rpmlib(FileDigests) is needed by syslinux-3.73-2.fc11.x86_64

I'm hitting this bug too (RHBZ 502353). Is there any sort of workaround I can try?

no. the best we've got now is to output an error and tell you that rpmlib deps can only be handled by first updating your rpm version.
